Prestigious Award For Youth Chairman

It is with great pride that Ashville Football Club can announce that our Youth Chairman, Philip Simmons, was one of the esteemed award recipients at Friday's FA Grassroots Football Awards ceremony.

Many of you will recognise Phil from his tireless work with all of the youth teams at the club. More casual fans will know Phil from his work as matchday secretary for the first team, a role which he took on with his usual enterprise and endeavour at the start of this campaign.

On Friday night, Phil won the Positive Football Environment award. This award is well deserved for someone who, for the last six years, has not only lived and breathed Ashville but has also been a pivotal figure in local youth football development.

Ashville Football Club chairman, Peter Reynolds, had this to say; "Ashville Football Club are delighted to announce that Phil Simmons, senior committee member, Ashville FC Youth chairman and coach of Ashville Roma U12s team, has won the Positive Football Environment Award as part of the FA Grassroots Football Awards.

This Award looks to recognise a volunteer who creates a fun, safe and inclusive space for everyone.

For over 6 years Phil has been involved with grassroots football, his commitment, dedication and support has been exemplary and this award is well deserved!".

Everyone at the club is delighted that Phil's tireless work has been recognised by our games governing body. Congratulations Phil!
