Newton 2 Ashville 2
Millcroft is Never an easy place to come especially midweek but the visitors got off to a much better start having lost 3 points in their previous game to Chester nomads, With all the experience of this Newton side Ashville were holding their own but on the 26th minute a long ball once again caught the Visitors out which Ross McDowell latched onto to put the home side one up, the away side were a little unlucky in the 41st minute when Newton were awarded a penalty which Ged King converted putting past villa keeper Jimmy Rainford.
Two nil down at in interval seemed like a mountain to climb but the Ashville team came out in a confident mood sensing if they could get at them they could get something out of the game and that's exactly what they did in the 65th minute the Villa won a corner, with great delivery from Jay Clare putting it on a plate for Callum Smith to head home - one back for the visitors. Ashville were now applying all the pressure in search of an equaliser Sam Robinson put a brilliantly weighted pass for Sam Hunt to convert and square the game up 2-2. now level the visitors finished the stronger but had to settle for a well-earned point which the second half performance deserved.
