Greenop Wins Monthly Award
It's been a good start to the season for Ashville and now, one of their star performers has been decorated for his own hot start to the season.
Striker Ben Greenop, who has scored 11 goals in all competitions so far this season, has been recognised by the North West Counties Football League and has been awarded the Player Of The Month award for September.
The award is just one indication of the hot form Greenop has shown this season, which includes a birthday hat trick against Droylsden back in the Wallasey clubs home opener in August.
Ben's goals have helped keep Ashville fighting on five fronts for silverware this season, with the club sitting just outside the playoffs in the league and through to the second round of all but one cup competition (Edward Case Cup first round replay to be played tonight).
On receiving the award, Ben had this to say; "It's a competitive league with a lot of talent in so to get the award means alot. Without the players that we have and the managements belief, this award would not have been possible, so i have them to thank. I'm feeling fit and sharp and I'm looking forward to the rest of the season".
Ben marks the first Ashville player to win any individual award since the club joined the NWCFL last year.
Congratulations on the award Ben!
